Gould Campbell 2003

Vintage Port

The Gould Campbell 2003 Vintage has all the necessary facets and characteristics to ensure that it will age impeccably for decades to come.

Description

The 2003 Gould Campbell Vintage is a blend of wines from Quinta do Cedro a first class vineyard in the Rio Torto valley, an area that produces some of the most famous Vintage Ports in the world, and also from Quinta de Sopas in the Upper Douro. The grapes from this vineyard are from very old mixed plantings which add great complexity and concentration to the blend.

Each component of the blend was held in wooden vats for 18 months after which it was racked and blended.

Bottling - May/June 2005. The wines have had no filtration or fining whatsoever.

Our Expert's Recommendation

"This young wine should be allowed to age in its own bottle for at least 15 to 20 years from the time it is bottled to achieve its optimum maturity. For those who prefer to drink their Vintage Port young, 4 to 5 years are sufficient."
