Warre's 1947

Vintage Port

Elegant with one of the finest 'noses' for many years.

Description

It was always a twenty to thirty year wine. Soft and a little light on the palate but still quite pleasant and delicate.

Our Expert's Recommendation

"If you have odd bottles of this wine in your cellar, you may find that there can be a slight variation between each bottle depending largely on where they have been stored. This wine is unlikely to benefit from further ageing."

Press Comments

“Mixture of spirit and Seville oranges on the nose. Soft and almost peachy taste. Cherry kernels finish. Liquorice at the end too”.
Serena Sutcliffe MW , A Century of Vintage Port, Volume 8 – Sotheby’s
