Visiting Porto

December 24, 2012
Question by: Torben, Copenhagen, DK

Q:

Would appreciate any word of advice for four guys going to Portugal, for a lesson in the art of produce - tasting and finding vintage port, maybe bring home a rare bottle or two at a favourable purchase - compared to availability or prices in Denmark.  We will arrive on January 4. and will stay in the region for 4 days, maybe you know of something "portvine related" going on in that period...?  Thanks in advance - "The Danish Port Vine Lovers Vintage Dream Team;)..."

September 23, 2012
Question by: Anne, Edinburgh, UK

Q:

Hello,  I have a friend who is not computer literate and has asked me to enquire about a bottle of vintage port that he has in his possession. The details are as follows:  Malvedos 1982 Vintage Port, Bottled in 1984, OPORTO, Portugal.

Can you give me any information about this port?  Anything would be of use.  I can forward a photo of the bottle if required.  Excuse me for being ignorant about Port, but I am just trying to help an old friend who used to know the wine trade in the 50's and 60's.

Graham's 1942

March 8, 2012
Question by: Sten, Malmö, SE

Q:

I have seen a Graham 1942 but on the label (late bottled). I guess this is not a LBV but a 1942 bottled perhaps after 4 years which happen for example with Taylor vintage 1938 which was bottled in 1942. This is a Graham vintage 1942 but bottle later but not a LBV according to what we mean today. Am I right?

Graham's 1994

July 21, 2011
Question by: Luuk, Amsterdam

Q:

A gift is merely a gift when there's no exciting story behind it. I've bought the Graham's Vintage 1994 for a friend of mine, and of course I'd like to tell him more about the port and its exclusivity. I've found a lot of information on the port such as the tasting notes etc. Could you tell me how many bottles there were made of the Vintage 1994? Also, is it true its value increases every year? Like to hear from you soon. Kind regards
