2012 Vintage Ports

Question by: Craig, Colorado Spring, USA

Like many, I am looking to purchase a vintage Port for my grandchild born several weeks ago.  Is there a way to get on a list from different vineyards to be notified about availability?  I would like to be able to give a Christmas card that indicates that a bottle will be forth coming in the future, and don't know how to start the process.

Hi Craig, The decision to declare a Vintage from the 2012 Harvest, or bottle Quinta Vintage Ports will not be announced until sometime in April or May of 2014.  We do not maintain a notification list of retail customers at the head office here in Portugal, but we can recommend a couple ways to keep in touch with the news from Symington Family Estates about all our Vintage Ports.

First, we (naturally!) enthusiastically recommend you subscribe to the RSS feed from The Vintage Port Site (find the orange RSS icon on the bottom right hand corner of any page of the site) to receive all our news as it is published here on the Vintage Port Site Blog and the In the Press feature.

Second, we suggest you visit the Contacts page of Premium Port Wine, (PPW) importers to the United States for all Symington Port brands.  Under the Distributor Locator on the Contacts page you will find three different distributors in Colorado, each handling different brands.  You should contact them to find your nearest retailer and see if the retailer will work with you on notification of new Ports as they become available.  If you have any trouble, don't hesitate to contact the PPW Sales Representative for Colorado, whose details are also listed on that page.

Not sure which brand you might wish to choose?  Take a look at our blog article about Brand Integrity which compares the styles of each of our major brands, and learn more about those that interest you through the Port Brand Profile pages.
