2010 Vintage Port Announcements

May 2, 2012
Question by: Robin, London, GB

Q:

Can you please advise whether you or any of the other port houses have declared 2010 a vintage year or not. Thanks

A:

Hi Robin, Yes, Symington Family Estates have bottled Quinta Vintage Ports from all our top Quintas for 2010, please see the full story on our News Page

Quinta do Vesuvio 2010 and Dow's Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira 2010 will be released this month en Primeur.  We suggest you contact your wine merchant to learn details of local availability and reserve your order - we are still bottling and will ship these wines over the coming months.  In the UK your best bets are Vintage Marque and Berry Brothers & Rudd, both of whom will ship anywhere in the UK.  Also being bottled are Quinta Vintage Ports from Graham's Quinta dos Malvedos, Dow's Quinta do Bomfim, Warre's Quinta da Cavadinha and Cockburn's Quinta dos Canais, but we will hold those bottles for ageing in our own cellars for another 8 to 10 years before release.

We are sure you can understand we are not best placed to comment on our competitors' releases, and suggest you consult the websites of top wine writers or wine magazines who are likely to make "round up" reports or specialist Port discussion forum sites such as The Port Forum or For The Love of Port for news about all releases.  If you check our Internet Resources page, you will find a comprehensive list with links to the sites we recommend for news about Vintage Port.
