Still very structured, hint of smokiness on the nose.  Lovely fresh aromas but with firm tannins.  Peppery and spice.  Lots of mixed red berries.  Dry finish.

The marvellous ripening conditions of 2007 shine over in this wine - a dense flavour of blackberry and black cherry, underpinned by tannin but the texture is seamless and this scented, balanced style will be sumptuous young and age for a generation or more.

Deep crimson colour. Firm, intense cassis nose. Taut and concentrated minty fruit on the palate backed by ripe tannin. Full bodied with mocha finish.  Rated 4 Stars.

Lovely opaque, youthful colour; just opening up to reveal beautiful floral fruit, violets and rose petals, very pure and fruit driven; again very pure on the palate, Touriga Nacional-driven berry fruit, not especially big or broad but fine, focused and linear, peppery tannins rising in the mouth leading to a long, dryish black pepper finish.   2,500 cases declared.

The 2007 Cockburn Vintage Port offers aromas of fruitcake, licorice, mineral, and black cherry.  It is a bit more forward and elegant than its sibling [Cockburn's Quinta dos Canais 2007] with layers of flavor, outstanding focus, and impeccable balance.  It is likely to be approachable a bit sooner but it, too, should still be performing well at age 30.

Score: 92/100
