Tasting Notes

James Molesworth critic

2017 tasting note year
On the darker side of the spectrum, with Turkish coffee and licorice root notes leading the way, while the core of black currant, ganache and sticky toffee pudding waits in reserve. A tarry edge drives the finish, with a whiff of singed walnut lending cut at the very end. Drink now through 2030. 3,000 cases made.

Score: 93

Top class.  Interesting nose, touch of tar and liquorice, whiff of honeycomb; lean yet fleshy, very good flavour and finish.  2006-2025.

Score: 4 Stars

Full, rich, ripe nose.  Very good tannins.  This shows well.  A meaty example.  Fine until just at the end when it tails off just a little.  Not too short.  Very good plus.  From 2009.

Score: 16.5/20
