The Quinta do Bomfim 1996 follows the classic Dow style, smooth and deeply flavoured, with an intense nose of spices, violets and red fruits. On the palate, tannins balance the fruit giving a firm structure, and with a long complex finish.
Alcohol by volume v/v (20º C): 20%
Total Acidity g/l tartaric acid: 4,80
Baumé: 3,0
Very good, lovely on nose, a power house of fruit. Rich, peppery and sweet. Outstanding. Score: Silver Medal
The nose is restrained blend of raisins, ripe blackberries, spice and earth. The palate has a fine, full, mouth coating texture, its sun-warmed blueberry and prune flesh supported by firm tannins. Lively acidity and notes of toast parade across the lengthy finish. Score: Gold Medal
