Warre's Quinta da Cavadinha 1995

Release Notes

The Quinta da Cavadinha 1995 is in the classical Warre style, very concentrated, peppery and with tobacco leaf tones.  The wine has enormous structure, tremendous extraction, with layers of ripe fruit flavours and very firm tannins.  Due to tis superb structure [this will] undoubtedly be a wine for long ageing.

Deep mahogany colour, big fruit and structure, great intensity. Sweet and long finish.

Opaque with deep red edge. Exciting nose of sweet black fruit, cherry, spice and cedar. After some evolution in the glass, blackberries, plums and powerful mineral notes emerged. Well knit, harmonious mouth with velvet flow and fine tannin finish. Still has plenty of potential to deliver.

Score: Silver Medal

This young Port sneaks up on you and then--bam!  Aromas of grapes, flowers and minerals pave the way for a slowly building palate that finishes with a burst of ripe, exotic fruit. Full-bodied, yet very tight and held back.

Score: 92/100
