Release Notes
Under 3,000 cases released, bottled at the Quinta. Visitors to the historic Vesuvio lagares during the treading were impressed by the extraordinary floral fragrances of the fermenting musts. These superb bouquets were still very much in evidence when we tasted the Touriga Francesa and Tinta Barroca lots from the cask at Vesuvio in the spring of 1995 and again in the late summer. The final 1994 Vintage lot made up in the spring of 1996 combines this first class nose with the deep purple colour and firm structure which are the very definition of a great Vintage Port.

Totally different in style to the main Symington brands, with its delicious touch of uplifting citrus aromas; not as sweet, but glorious fruit. Still opaque; extraordinary, most distinctive, great potential. 2008-2030 Score: 5 Stars

This impressive wine, with an opaque ruby/purple color, reveals excellent richness, layers of flavor well-integrated alcohol and tannin, moderate sweetness, and a long, heady finish. Pure and impressively built, it should drink well in 5-7 years. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2025. Score: 92/100
