Dark ruby colour, with great depth. On the nose, intense succulent blackcurrant fruits, with hints of chocolate. On the palate considerable tannin, and a rich velvety finish.

All the components are there for an exceptional Vintage Port. The colour is black, with a purple edge, and the aroma is of black fruit and chocolate. Velvety in texture, dense sweet fruit is heightened by balancing acidity. Packed with flavour intensity, this Warre has excellent grip that carries through the long finish. A wine for the long term.

Score: 94/100

That whiff of Seville oranges is there immediately. Fascinating, intriguing taste of marmalade and black and red fruit. Luscious and yet structured. Hugely successful. Still a bit of fire on the finish but perfectly integrated.

This is feminine in style, with lovely berry and grapey aromas and flavours. The finish, however, is packed with fruit and tannins. it’s got grip.

Score: 91/100
