Gould Campbell 1991

Release Notes

The wines showed early promise with soft mature tannins, great depth and aroma and we are pleased to see that they have borne out our early impressions, after some 18 months in cask. The wine has excellent grip, deep purple colour and a delicate 'cistus' nose.

Tasting Notes

Robert Parker critic

1995 tasting note year

This big, rich, firmly-structured, full-bodied port exhibits a dense purple color, a tight but promising nose with elements of flowers, jammy black-raspberries, earth, and spice.  Vaguely reminiscent of a Dow or Warre in its emphasis on restraint and dryness, this beautiful, well-delineated, cleanly made port will be at its prime by the turn of the century, and easily last for two decades thereafter.  Drink 2000-2020.

Score: 90/100
