Tasting Notes

2012 tasting note year

Much more youthful in appearance than the Malvedos; fine and focused yet gentle on the nose, dry and lacking some fruit on both nose and palate, now starting to look a bit frail, the peppery tannic backbone leading to a rather dry, austere finish.  Good now but drying out.  Drink over the next five years.

Score: 14/20

1990 tasting note year

One of the better 1979s I have tasted.  Most are rather watery and diluted, with little interesting fruit.  This is fairly exciting, with plenty of fruit and tannin.  Medium ruby, with a perfumed black cherry nose, medium-bodied, with medium tannins and lovely floral fruit flavours.
