Paler than many a tawny, it’s hard to believe just how intense and lingering this is and, after nearly 50 years, how smooth.   It’s a seamless flow of deliciousness, with layers of liquorice, esteva, demerara, cafe creme and macaroons.  With wonderful depth and resonance, its softly crooning finish hums for minutes.  Fabulous.

We find that after more than 48 years the colour is still a golden red.  On the nose, there are soft flowery aromas, and in the mouth, there is the typical Warre elegance.  Very soft tannins are well integrated with the fruit.  The many years of bottle ageing have softened this wine into perfect balance and harmony.  Rich, elegant and exquisitely delicate on the very long finish.

Power, dimension and character, are all hallmarks of this most memorable Vintage. The colour of this wine is golden red even after some 40 years. On the nose, there are soft flowery aromas. On the taste, there is the typical Warre elegance. Very soft tannins are well integrated with the fruit. The many years of bottle ageing has softened this wine into perfect balance and harmony. Rich, elegant and very long on the finish.

Scented - quite muted. Touch of bananas. Heathery nose. Classic tarry, spirity fruit, typical of the year. Leathery. Spirity finish. Drink now. Another tasting produced a very fruity, clean pure nose with fruit macerated in alcohol and a punchy finish.

Despite a shaky start (in 1965) and a dozen slightly variable notes through the 1970s, for me this is now one of the best and most elegant of all the ‘63s. I have made a total of sixteen notes since the early 1980s when it emerged, fully fledged and totally delicious. ...In 1994 and 1996, each time along side the Graham and Dow. Warre looked the most mature of the three and had lost quite a bit of colour, particularly in magnum. Very fragrant, harmonious, touch of spice, cloves, tangerine. Stylish, beautifully balanced, gentle acidity.

Extremely impressive, with beautifully balanced, harmonious sweet fruit on the palate. Medium ruby–red, ripe cherry and cassis aromas, medium- bodied, with rich, velvety fruit flavors, full, soft tannins and a powerful finish.
