Viticultural and Weather Conditions

A good winter was followed by good weather in the spring, and the vines looked very healthy in early May, better than in years.  Early July was very hot, but by end August no rain had fallen for four months and it was badly wanted, as the grape skins were thick and tough.

Rain was welcomed mid September, and Vintage started on the 20th.

Winemaker's Overview

Vintage started at the three Quintas on 20th.  Cool and overcast. Some much needed rain on 16th and 17th has freshened the grapes after nearly six months drought.

The vintage was saved by the heavy showers on 16th.
