1932 Vintage

Viticultural and Weather Conditions

A very dry winter followed by a cold summer, and by the beginning of September the grapes were still very backward.  Harvest started 3rd October.

Winemaker's Overview

Vintage at all three quintas started on 3rd.  Graduations all lower than normal, but grapes singularly free from podre (rot), which elsewhere has been prevalent.  Bomfim for the first time gave over 100 pipes of mosts, the effects of planting in recent years now beginning to be felt.  No reason why the quinta wines should not be quite useful, though hardly of outstanding merit.
