No vintage wines declared or bottled from the year 1923

1923 Vintage

Good sound wines with fine flavour, but not declared, doubtless because the quality of the 1924s was already evident.

Viticultural and Weather Conditions

A dry year, late ripening, but rain at the beginning of September helped.  Weather was excellent for the vintage which began in early October.

Winemaker's Overview

Began as usual at Zimbro.  The grapes were rather unevenly ripend and the skins hard, at the same time quite free from disease.  There was much queima (sunburn) requiring rigorous escolha (selection).
