Viticultural and Weather Conditions

The winter of 1909/10 was remarkable for the extraordinary flooding in December 1909 both in the Douro and in Gaia.  A cold spring and desavinho (abortion of fruit set), made for a generally backward year.

There was some helpful rain in mid September.  Harvest was general by 10 October with mostly fine weather, though a few showers.

Winemaker's Overview

Vintage 1910 - Revolution Port  It is early days to prophesy how good the 1910s will turn out.  The chief characteristics of the vintage were the colour, sugar and slow fermentation, the last feature no doubt being due to the coolness of the atmosphere.
