1907 Vintage

Viticultural and Weather Conditions

Spring brought a favourable fruit set, but this was followed by a long drought and heat.  Harvest started 1 October, despite intermittent rain beginning 27 September.

Vinification

Skins were thick and hard, and after the rains the weather became colder so the lagares stood a lot of work. Useful wines were made.

Winemaker's Overview

Owing to the drought and heat, prospect is doubtful.

The long drought had told its tale and the thick skins and hard stalks were past praying for... What I foretold in April has happened and 1907 will go down to posterity as an unsatisfactory vintage.
