transporting port

I have 5 cases of 83 and 85 vintage ports in their wooden cases I want to transport them from NY to Fla by auto is this safe or too much shaking.. I would do it in the fall when it's cooler

Re: transporting port

Definately do it once it cools down a bit but in terms of transportation top quality wines & ports are transported all the time by ship, air & road so no need to worry about the port getting damaged. Obviously the less movement the better but the port will settle down again and be fine.
