Graham 77

Opened first of a case. Little sediment. the color seemed quite light. Cork crumbly. This was cellered with Victoria wines in Bury street until their demise then with me.

Having read the tasting notes was looking forward to this but was dissapointed,

In comparison to the 85 previously drunk it seemed thin and without much body. It was sweet though not much complexity of either taste or bouquet.

Seemed past its prime. I have sometimes found quite marked differences within a case so will look to the next bottle to see if it will be the same.

Re: Graham 77

During August I opened another from this case. The difference was remarkable. Once again had some trouble with the cork however the contents were magnificent. I was delighted with the full body and complexity of flavours.

The color is not very dark but with with a good bouquet. It seems quite spirity( alcoholic) with good legs and not too tannic.

Yesterday I opened a third bottle from this case. No trouble with the cork this time. As with the two previous bottle a thick crust was left. Once again a delightful rich port full of many flavours which I enjoy so much yet struggle to adequately desribe. Again struck by the variety found within one case and the three adjoining bottle I have opened. The last two have certainly been superb and I can only speculate that it may well have been the condition of the cork with the first bottle that had effected it.

Certainly all three bottles were well sealed with two metal/lead type covers one over the other. The first having a paper seal before the second. I can highly reccommend this particular Port and will look forward to my next bottle from that case.
