Ask The Expert

It gives me great satisfaction to see the growing number of Port lovers and enthusiasts who have visited the Vintage Port Site during the past months. When I started to manage this section, I never thought that it might become popular to the point of receiving as many as 10 questions each day. I was impressed with the number and notably the quality of the questions being asked and came to realize that many of you had a solid knowledge about Vintage Port, making my job here much more fun. In fact, the rapid growth in popularity of this section is actually outpacing my ability to respond quickly and with thorough answers. I have therefore decided to change the way your questions are handled. From now on, please post your questions directly to the Vintage Port Site Forum. You will find different topics available to suit your interest in the “General discussion about Port” section. To be able to post your questions you will have to fill out a short form which we hope you do not find to be an inconvenience. I will periodically pick a question from the forum and answer it in the “Ask The Expert” section and we will be sure that you will still be able to see the already answered questions as you did before.

I feel that this system is fairer, because it ensures that every question is visible to everyone and can be answered, be it by me or your fellow Vintage Port Site members who have proven to be quite knowledgeable and can often provide valuable advice. Thank you for sharing your feedback and suggestions. We value your interest and promise to continue to explore new ways for the Port community to grow and improve.

Best Regards,

Johnny
